Dundee FC Gets SPL promotion-has some nice WAGS as well

So the SPL has decided that Dundee FC will replace Rangers instead of recently demoted side Dunfermline.

Via AP-GLASGOW, Scotland -- The Scottish Premier League has invited Dundee FC to play in the top division to replace Rangers, which is in bankruptcy protection and will begin the new season in the fourth tier.

Dundee, which finished runner-up in the second tier last season, was chosen Monday ahead of relegated Dunfermline at the SPL's annual general meeting.

Rangers, which has won a record 54 championship titles, was demoted on Friday to the lowest league of professional soccer in Scotland because it has tax debts exceeding $30 million. The club had been hoping to only be relegated to the second tier.

In my mind Dunfermline should have stayed in the SPL rather than promoting 2 teams. However it adds extra Tayside Derby's to the schedule.....yeah I know not that exciting. On a high note however, a few years ago Dundee FC was struggling to pay tax bills (In the SPL?!?! WHAAAAAT?!?!?) and so the team WAGs got together and made a calendar to help raise some funds. Oh yeah folks we here at Rantings of a Soccer Nut always promise to bring you the stories that count. More pictures here. Enjoy!!
