Adebayor makes Hotspur loan permanent

God I love Fan Art!!!

Via ESPN-Tottenham have agreed a deal with Manchester City to take striker Emmanuel Adebayor to White Hart Lane, according to reports.

Adebayor, 28, was on loan at Spurs last season and scored 17 goals in 33 league appearances in an impressive spell. With the likes of Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli at City, Adebayor has found himself surplus to requirements and has been told he can leave, with Spurs keen to seal a £5 million move.

The one sticking point has been his £170,000-a-week wages, but Tottenham are now believed to have reached an agreement which will see him paid around £100,000-a-week but will also hand him a significant signing on fee.

An ESPN source said: "The deal has not actually been signed off, but there is an agreement in principle there, although it is not totally completed."

On Thursday, new manager Andre Villas-Boas revealed that the Togo international was high on his list of targets.

"It would be a lie if I tell you we are not looking for a striker," Villas-Boas told reporters. "And of course Ade is part of that list. We are extremely willing to have Adebayor on board with us."
