Ipswich makes bid for USMNT player Edu

This would be a great move for Edu. I would of course love to see him go to a higher league but at least 2nd tier English soccer is better than fourth tier Scottish soccer.

Via AP-Glasgow Rangers manager Ally McCoist says English second-tier club Ipswich has made an offer for American midfielder Maurice Edu.

Edu has not played this season for Rangers, which has seen several players leave since being plunged into liquidation and being forced into Scotland's fourth tier.

McCoist says "there has been an offer on the table from Ipswich which, as yet, he hasn't accepted."

Edu trained on Monday morning with Rangers and McCoist says he is "hopeful something can be resolved sooner rather than later."

The transfer window closes in England and Scotland on Aug. 31
